TKG HUCHEMS R&D Center is exploring and nurturing high value added business opportunities by developing special amine monomer for aramid fibers which take up 90% of super fiber production. In addition, we are striving to expand our high value-added business through the development of super engineering plastic, polyimide(PI).
It is a high performance fiber with a much higher tensile strength and elongation rate than ordinary fibers for clothing and is mainly used chiefly as a reinforcing material and a new material for industrial purposes.
This high-tech material has higher strength and thermal stability than normal plastic products. It is widely used in industries including aerospace, electric & electronics, automobiles, precision machinery, etc.
TKG HUCHEMS R&D Center is focusing R&D capabilities through consistent investment and support to secure future growth engines and manufacture high value-added products. We exert ourselves to R&D in intermediate materials that can contribute to developing core materials, high performance and high value-added products. TKG HUCHEMS R&D Center is focusing its R&D efforts on developing intermediates for various industries such as the fiber, pharmaceutical, and plastics industries, using our main products MNB, DNT, and raw materials such as ammonia and hydrogen, to achieve customer satisfaction.
TKG HUCHEMS R&D Center is collaborating with major players in the electronic materials sector based on fine chemical technology. We are focusing on the synthesis of polymer materials used in display and semiconductor circuit processes, as well as research on low-toxicity organic solvents and ultra-high purity purification. Through these efforts, we are striving to secure future growth engines in the advanced industry sector."
Building upon accumulated experience in precision chemical material development, TKG HUCHEMS R&D Center is also focusing its R&D efforts on the development of battery materials for secondary batteries. We are conducting research to develop new materials in collaboration with clients in the secondary battery material industry, aiming to enhance the functionality of battery materials.
After the start of operations of ammonium nitrate plant in 1970, TKG HUCHMS has developed its own process technology for Ammonium Nitrate in 2013 while improving its competitiveness through continuous research and development. Ammonium nitrate is a colorless crystalline solid and processed into prills for specific applications with a chemical formula NH4NO3. It is used as the raw material for ANFO(Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil), Emulsion explosives, agricultural fertilizers, and cold packs.
With the tightening of the dust emission standards (40mg/Sm3 in 2019 -> 25mg/Sm3 in 2020), we significantly reduced fine dust to 1~2mg/Sm3 or less by developing and applying clean production technology to the production process even though we already had emitted below the emission standards before the tightening. In addition, we minimized visible pollution.
